Biography

Jonathan C. Crafts has over 10 years of experience representing clients in white-collar matters, including both civil and criminal governmental investigations, and civil litigation. From initiation through resolution.

Jonathan manages all aspects of litigation and investigation defense. Jonathan’s white-collar practice focuses on clients involved in government regulatory investigations at both the state and the federal levels. His business litigation practice focuses on commercial disputes, including contract issues, business torts, insurance coverage and employment matters.

Notable Experience

Representative Experience

  • Representing accountant in several related matters arising out of alleged Pyramid scheme, including criminal investigation, SEC investigation, bankruptcy, and a multibillion-dollar Multi-District Litigation class action in Federal District Court. Successfully negotiated settlements for client with Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Chapter 11 Trustee.

  • Represented individual in matter involving alleged Massachusetts Wage Act violation, fraud, and unjust enrichment claims.

  • Represented family and next-of- kin of individual murdered during attempted burglary.

  • Represented individual subject of Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office investigation in to alleged larceny arising out of alleged travel scheme.

  • Represented multinational retail client on global FCPA compliance initiative. Regularly traveled to Indian subsidiary for on-site projects and initiatives and conducted subsequent monitoring services. 

  • Represented weapons manufacturer in FCPA investigation by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission, successfully participating in the preparation for and negotiation of settlement terms.

  • Represented security barrier manufacturer in FCA investigation, conducting the internal investigation and participating in settlement negotiations with the Department of Justice.

  • Favorably settled trade secrets dispute after handling matter from initiation through discovery to filing of summary judgment. - Won favorable result for major national bank in foreclosure dispute.

  • Other experience includes internal partnership dispute; action to reach and apply assets; RICO matter; defense in Medicaid fraud action and related matters, real estate disputes, wage act claims, and unemployment claims.
